2FAGuard is a modern, free, and open-source application designed to centralize and effectively manage your two-factor authentication codes for quick access.
With it, you can easily import your existing 2FA tokens from other apps (such as Google Authenticator, Bitwarden, and Authenticator Pro) in just a few steps, and they’re immediately usable. You can even add new codes simply by scanning the QR Code provided by a site. And if you’re a bit paranoid (which is understandable), you can also export your data whenever you want to keep it safe elsewhere.
In terms of security, the team behind 2FAGuard hasn’t skimped on protection. Your data is encrypted with AEGIS-256 and remains securely stored on your device. On top of that, the app is compatible with Windows Hello, allowing you to authenticate using your fingerprint, facial recognition, or a security key.
As you can see, the 2FAGuard interface is quite minimalist, but that’s intentional. It provides quick access to everything you need: a list of your tokens, a button to add new ones, another for settings, and that’s it. Simple and efficient. You can also choose to lock the app on startup or after a period of inactivity. There’s even an “incognito” mode that hides the codes on the screen, which is handy if you’re using your PC in public places.
For downloading, you have two options: a Windows 10/11 app from the Microsoft Store that updates automatically in the background, and a classic “desktop” version that’s portable, making it convenient to use from a USB drive.
P.S.: If you’re not using 2FA for your online accounts, you should definitely start.
