While ACEMAGIC already enjoys a small reputation in the field of mini PCs under the NiPoGi brand, laptops were still absent from its catalog until recently. Now, the brand is tentatively starting to expand this product range with the AX15 model. This laptop does not aim to compete with the most powerful machines, but rather to be a simple and efficient work tool at a competitive price. But is this really the case? Check out our full review of the ACEMAGIC AX15 laptop.
ACEMAGIC AX15 PC Overview: Intel N95, 16GB RAM + 512GB SSD
The AX15 is the first laptop from the ACEMAGIC brand. In order to establish itself in this highly competitive market sector, the manufacturer has focused on simplicity and efficiency. The AX15 is, therefore, not a high-performance machine, primarily due to its Intel N95 processor. This processor is an entry-level chip that debuted in early 2023 and is part of the Alder Lake-N series. It features only 4 cores (without hyperthreading) with a clock speed ranging from 1.7 GHz to 3.4 GHz in turbo boost mode. The Intel UHD GPU, integrated into the processor, is also not the most powerful, but we will delve into that further in the rest of this review.
Despite the limitations of these components, the ACEMAGIC AX15 performs well for basic tasks. Additionally, the laptop boasts 16 GB of DDR4 RAM (at 2666 MHz) and a 512 GB SSD. It’s worth noting that users have the option to upgrade this configuration by replacing the 16 GB RAM with a 32 GB module and the 512 GB SSD with a 2 TB one.
The product’s finish is meticulous, with the 15.6-inch FHD IPS display offering good color rendition and being surprisingly thin. Despite its entry-level positioning, the AX15 features a pleasing premium design. The results regarding connectors/connectivity are more mixed, but nothing dramatic for the intended use of this machine.

ACEMAGIC AX15 Computer Review
Design and ergonomics
As usual, let’s begin by examining the design and ergonomics of the product. The first noticeable feature when you unpack the AX15 is its “premium” appearance. Despite its very affordable price, the PC exudes the look of a high-end machine, attributed in part to its robust aluminum case that is resistant to shocks and bending. The thinness of the screen further enhances this impression; when closed, the computer is only 1.6 cm thick. However, it’s worth noting that certain high-end features, such as keyboard backlighting, are absent.
Speaking of the keyboard, this one is in a default QWERTY layout. It is therefore suitable for the American market, but fortunately, the manufacturer has also thought of the international clientele by adding 4 keyboard pads, including the QWERTY, to easily switch to the layout that suits you. Although the keyboard is quite narrow (logical for a 15-inch PC), the typing pleasure is there. The touchpad and its 130 mm wide, on the other hand, offers a lot of ease.
On this PC, all the sockets and ports are on the sides, as is usually the case, so nothing surprising at this level. We will revisit the connectors in more detail in the remainder of this article.
It’s worth noting that the AX15 comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed, in a version devoid of bloatware and including the minimum number of applications. The goal is likely to enhance the user experience by avoiding overloading the system with often unnecessary and sometimes resource-intensive applications. At first glance, this “minimalist” aspect might be a bit perplexing for those accustomed to testing many Windows machines. However, such a default environment is better suited to the target clientele of this product, there’s no doubt about that.
The ACEMAGIC AX15 features a 15.6-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution, which is ideal for its dimensions. It’s an IPS display, providing excellent viewing angles.
The brightness is satisfactory, the colors are vibrant, and the contrast is quite good. Overall, there are no significant drawbacks on the display side. You’ll be able to enjoy watching episodes of your current series or videos on YouTube without straining your eyes.
Moreover, the HDMI port on the left side of the device enables you to connect an external monitor for enhanced visual comfort.
The ACEMAGIC AX15 also boasts a hinge that allows the screen to be tilted to a 180° angle. In other words, it is possible to use the AX15 with the screen lying flat. However, using it in this position is not very convenient, especially since the screen doesn’t open fully to 180° but rather to 170°. This remains a minor detail that doesn’t significantly impact the user experience.
Processor & Graphics Card
Now, let’s explore what the AX15 PC has in store, quite literally! As mentioned earlier, it features an Intel N95 chip that is powerful enough to handle all the common desktop applications, especially those in the Office pack such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
However, it’s essential to abandon the idea of using this device for video editing or 3D modeling. The AX15 is designed for basic tasks like word processing, web browsing, or even small photo editing, but more demanding applications should not be expected.
Despite its limitations, the ACEMAGIC AX15 performs well within the scope of its capabilities. While it’s not a powerhouse, in practical use, you don’t feel hindered; Windows 11 Pro operates smoothly and responsively.
It goes without saying that gaming is not recommended with this PC. The Intel UHD graphics card doesn’t work wonders, although it can handle some older games. This might be enough to satisfy those nostalgic for vintage video games, although…
Despite the fact that the Intel N95 is an entry-level processor, sometimes used in certain mini PCs, its performance remains surprisingly positive. Contrary to expectations based on various benchmarks, the results we achieved were better than anticipated. Here are the results:
As a reminder, the Intel Alder Lake N95 is a SoC with 4 cores. Each core in this configuration possesses the same processing capacity and operates at the same clock speed. Unlike other configurations, there is no distinction between performance-oriented cores (P-Cores) for handling heavy tasks and efficiency-oriented cores (E-Cores) for processing lighter tasks in the background. The 4 cores of the N95 chip can be likened to efficiency cores, reinforcing the fact that this PC is not intended for performing demanding and complex tasks. On the other hand, for lighter tasks, everything runs smoothly, even when they are performed simultaneously.
Memory & Storage
The AX15 laptop is equipped with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB ROM, providing sufficient space and speed for its intended use. However, for those requiring more capacity, it’s possible to upgrade by replacing the original 16GB RAM with a 32GB module and the 512GB M.2 SSD with a larger 2TB option. It’s important to note that performing these upgrades requires opening the device and handling the components, so if you lack the necessary skills, we strongly recommend seeking the assistance of a professional.
Regarding the built-in SSD, it cannot be characterized as high-quality. As expected, it’s a cost-effective component with a read speed of just 562 Mbps according to our CrystalDiskMark test:
Once again, the scores may appear relatively low, but in practical terms, this doesn’t pose a significant issue. It’s important to keep in mind that the AX15 is priced around €300, so expectations should be aligned with its cost. In fact, it’s quite positive that the laptop comes with 16GB of RAM, considering that other machines, even at higher price points, often come with 8GB. The affordability of the AX15 and the inclusion of 16GB of RAM make it a commendable choice in its price range.
Connectivity and connectivity
To conclude this review, let’s take a quick look at the connectors. On the right side of the device, we find:
- One 3.5mm headphone jack
- One USB 2.0 port
- One USB 3.2 port
- A MicroSD card reader (up to 128GB)
On the left-hand side, the list goes on with:
- Another USB 3.2 port
- One HDMI 1.4 socket
- One USB Type-C port for power
- And a USB 3.2 Type-C port (for data)
In terms of connectors, while they are not exceptionally rich, they are not too limited either. However, there are a few points of regret. Firstly, it’s disappointing that the power port does not operate via USB. Regarding the second Type-C port, its lack of support for DisplayPort limits its capabilities, although HDMI compensates for this limitation. Additionally, the absence of USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports that offer higher speed is unfortunate. Furthermore, Ethernet connectivity is also missing.
In terms of connectivity, it would have been preferable to have Bluetooth in its version 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 rather than Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 5. These limitations are attributed to the internal bandwidth constraints, and they align with the choices made by the manufacturer. Despite these drawbacks, the overall assessment for a PC of this nature remains positive, but it’s essential to acknowledge these limitations.
Tech To Geek received the ACEMAGIC AX15 for testing. It’s crucial to note that the manufacturer had no influence on the conclusions drawn from this test. Furthermore, the manufacturer did not have access to the final version of the article before its publication.
Our opinion on the ACEMAGIC AX15
As evident, the ACEMAGIC AX15 doesn’t perform miracles. For its inaugural laptop, the brand has opted for a very affordable product suitable for occasional use. In this regard, the AX15 proves to be a commendable machine for basic tasks such as web browsing, multimedia consumption, and using office software. It offers a truly attractive quality/price ratio. Despite somewhat limited connectivity, commendation is due for the design effort, both in the device’s finish and the quality of the display. Additionally, it introduces clever features, such as the ease of swapping keyboard layouts using mats and the integration of a streamlined version of Windows 11 Pro.
While the AX15 comes close to high-end PCs in terms of design, the quality of its internal components makes it clear about its performance expectations. All in all, it’s a straightforward computer that surprisingly proves to be efficient for the tasks asked of it. If this aligns with your expectations, we can wholeheartedly recommend it.
