The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta is just around the corner. As usual, eager fans will get the chance to test the multiplayer mode weeks before the game’s official release. This trial period is the perfect opportunity to explore the gameplay, discover new features, maps, and weapons—and, of course, start debating balance issues like every year ☺️.

In this guide, we break down everything you need to know about the Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta: dates, access conditions (pre-order, Game Pass, etc.), supported platforms, and the content you’ll be able to try out in advance.

Black Ops 7 Beta Dates and Access

This year, Activision is slightly changing the formula. Instead of multiple phases, there will be one beta split into two stages over a total of six days:

  • Early Access (Pre-Order or Game Pass Ultimate):
    October 2 at 7 p.m. → October 5 at 7 p.m.
  • Open Beta (available to everyone):
    October 5 at 7 p.m. → October 8 at 7 p.m.

The beta will be available on all platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Battle.net and Steam).

Who Can Join the Beta?

Early access is available through:

  • Pre-ordering the game (digital or physical edition)
  • Being an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber
  • Being a PC Game Pass subscriber

If none of these apply, don’t worry—you can jump in for free starting October 5, on the platform of your choice.

Download and Early Access Codes

Digital Pre-Orders – Automatic Access

If you pre-ordered digitally (Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Steam, or Battle.net), your account will automatically grant early access. No code required—the beta will appear in your library once downloads go live.

Physical Pre-Orders – Code Required

If you pre-ordered a physical copy, your retailer should provide an early access code. Depending on the store, you’ll find it:

  • On your purchase receipt
  • In a confirmation email
  • In your online customer account (for online orders)

Once you’ve got the code, head to the official Call of Duty redemption page (placeholder link—replace with official URL) and log in with your Activision account. Select your platform, validate the code, and you’ll receive your access token by email before the beta begins.

Didn’t receive your code? Contact your retailer directly—Activision does not handle physical code distribution.

Multiplayer Content Available During the Beta

Over the six-day beta, you’ll be able to try out multiple maps, game modes, weapons, and scorestreaks, giving a solid preview of what Black Ops 7 has in store.

Game Modes

  • Classics: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed
  • Dynamic Modes: Overload (carry a device into enemy zones to overload them), Hardpoint (control shifting objectives)
  • Training Course: A dedicated tutorial space to practice movement mechanics (wall jumps, slides, etc.)—great for beginners and veterans testing new features.

Playable Maps

Six maps will be included:

  • Blackheart
  • Cortex
  • Exposure
  • Imprint
  • The Forge
  • Toshin

Each offers a unique atmosphere, with a mix of chokepoints, open zones, and varied tactical opportunities.

Weapons

Expect a wide arsenal, including:

  • Assault Rifles: M15 Mod 0, MXR-17, Peacekeeper Mk1
  • SMGs: Graz 45k, Dravec 45, Razor 9mm
  • Other: Shotguns, sniper rifles, a launcher, a melee weapon, and a tactical rifle

Scorestreaks

Familiar rewards return, such as the UAV, RC-XD, and Counter-UAV, alongside fresh options:

  • Gravemaker: A rifle that shoots through walls
  • Rhino: A remote-controlled robotic soldier
  • VTOL Warship
  • Armored D.A.W.G.
  • HKDs: Mini explosive ground drones

Practical Info: Preload, File Size & Rewards

  • Preload & File Size: Activision hasn’t yet announced exact download size or preload dates. But, as with every Call of Duty, expect a hefty file. Free up space early to avoid surprises.
  • Beta Rewards: Players will unlock exclusive rewards for the full release, such as weapon camos, emblems, and Operator skins. More details will be shared soon.

In short: Whether you’re pre-ordering or waiting for the free open beta, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is giving players a solid six days to test its multiplayer. Expect new maps, modes, and weapons to try, plus rewards that carry over to launch.
