ChatGPT: The Use of Artificial Intelligence is on the Rise and Google May Face Competition

If ChatGPT was the first chatbot offered to the general public in November 2022, it has since been joined by many generative AI offerings such as Midjourney and Replika. Regardless of the software or language model used, the popularity of these tools is growing exponentially.

The OnePulse Institute and TechRadar conducted a survey of 890 adult internet users in the US and UK regarding their use of AI tools, of which ChatGPT is the most well-known representative. The study found that the tools available to us are experiencing tremendous success. At least 27% of respondents have already used OpenAI’s chatbot, and 12% have tried the capabilities of generative AIs such as Midjourney and Dall-E.

In just six months, consumer-grade AIs have radically transformed the world of work. Many professionals in creative or tertiary jobs fear for their professional future as artificial intelligence has demonstrated its superiority over human employees in many tasks that were once reserved for them. The survival of millions of jobs is threatened, and according to OpenAI, only 34 professions will be spared from the digital and social revolution that awaits us.
