By default, iOS 26 screens incoming calls from numbers not saved in your contacts. That means unknown callers may be filtered before they ever ring your iPhone. If you’d rather have things work the old way—where all calls ring through—you can disable this feature.
Here’s how to turn off Screen Unknown Callers in just a few steps.
Method 1: Turn Off in Settings
1- Open Settings on your iPhone.
2- Scroll down and tap Apps.

3- Select Phone from the list.

4- Under Screen Unknown Callers, tap Never.

Your iPhone will now ring for calls from unsaved numbers, and missed calls will show up in your Recents list.
Method 2: Use Settings Search
If you don’t see the option where expected, the search field makes it faster:
Open Settings.
At the top, tap into the Search bar.
Type unknown.

Select Screen Unknown Callers (or on some builds, Silence Unknown Callers).
Choose Never.
Switching Back Later
At any time, you can revisit this menu to change the setting:
- Ask Reason for Calling → iOS asks unknown callers to state a reason before ringing you.
- Silence → Unknown numbers go straight to voicemail, with notifications appearing silently.
✅ Takeaway: Setting Screen Unknown Callers to Never restores the familiar behavior where all calls ring, regardless of whether the number is saved.
