Razer’s ergonomic Pro Click V2 sits, much like their laptops, on the border between gaming and productivity. It’s a mostly conservative design with a classic right-handed, semi-ergonomic grip.

The mouse doesn’t have a vertical grip or special anti‑RSI design, but it’s slightly tilted to the side, fits well in the hand, and has a thumb rest. It’s not quite as comfortable as some competitors—its “shelf” is shorter than, say, a Logitech MX Master or a Keychron M6.

Since it’s Razer, there’s a bit of gaming flair included. Here, that means fast sensors, macro functions, customizable profiles for all your installed games, and a strip of programmable RGB lights along the bottom.

High-Quality Materials and Fast Sensor

The sides are covered in grippy, rubber-like material, so it’s easy to lift despite a fairly high weight. Button and scroll-wheel build quality is excellent, though Razer doesn’t attempt to dampen click noise. The scroll wheel spins either freely and silently or with distinct mechanical steps, controlled by a switch on top. There’s no separate side scroll wheel, but the middle wheel supports tilt left/right.

The sensor is Razer’s own Focus Pro, which rivals the best gaming mice in terms of resolution and a polling rate of up to 1000 Hz. You get precise tracking for high-res screens, fast in-game response with minimal lag, and super-sensitive quick movements.

Sensitivity adjustments aren’t done on the mouse itself—they’re handled in Razer Synapse, available for Windows and Mac. The mouse connects via Bluetooth, USB-RF dongle, or USB cable, but customization is only available on Windows and Mac.

Packed With Smart Features

Synapse lets you do a lot: reassign buttons and scroll functions, adjust sensitivity, polling rate, and power-saving timers. Pre-configured and adjustable profiles exist for common programs, from Adobe Creative Suite to Microsoft Office and various browsers.

A new feature, AI Prompt Master, lets you assign specific prompts for Copilot or ChatGPT to a mouse button—though why you’d want that is another question.

Synapse is part of Razer’s larger ecosystem, including Razer Central (likely for updates) and Razer Chroma for RGB lighting. Setup can take some time with downloads and restarts before everything runs smoothly.

Too Many Features?

The software isn’t the fastest if you just want a quick button remap or DPI adjustment. The mouse also tends to go into sleep mode, which can delay use after waking. This saves power but doesn’t turn off the RGB lights, which can drain the battery faster.

Turning off all the RGB lights dramatically improves battery life. Razer claims up to 24 weeks, and after a week of light use, I dropped from 100% to 95%—so pretty close.

Priced over $100, I expect both quality and functionality, and it delivers plenty of both—technically speaking. However, the software’s feature load can slow things down on weaker machines, making simple tweaks cumbersome. I’d personally prefer something more streamlined and with better thumb support.
