Realms Deep 2023: all the announcements from the retro FPS conference

Once again, the 3D Realms event proved to be a treasure trove of information for boomer shooter enthusiasts.

This weekend marked Realms Deep 2023, an online conference meticulously organized by the publisher 3D Realms, dedicated entirely to shooting games with a retro aesthetic. It’s an event tailored for all fans of boomer shooters, featuring violence, explosive and improbable weapons, and, above all, big pixels

The event was brimming with diverse and varied announcements, offering something for everyone (assuming you’re a fan of FPS, of course). The complete replay of the conference can be found above, and here are the significant announcements from Realms Deep 2023:

Twisted Tower: Thomas Brush (Atmos Games) unveils a new game where BioShock meets Willy Wonka and Disneyland.

Bloodless : Point ‘n Sheep Games unveils a new retro action adventure game with fast-paced combat.

  • Wrath: Aeon of Ruin sees its release date set for February 27, 2024, which has already been available in Early Access on PC for almost a year.

Core Decay : a new retro cyberpunk FPS , in the pure spirit of Deus Ex and System Shock , announced in video.

  • Tempest Rising : Composer Frank Klepacki ( Command and Conquer ) will provide the soundtrack.
  • Phantom Fury : a demo is available on PC.
  • Ripout : its release date is set for October 24, which will mark the end of Early Access . Versions for home consoles are also expected in 2024.
  • The Kindeman Remedy : the medical simulation horror game will be released on November 16, 2023.
  • Kingpin: Reloaded , the remastered version of the irreverent FPS will be released on December 5, 2023.

  • Combustion , an Action-RPG with a PSX aesthetic with animals and an investigation into a serial killer, announced on video.
  • Graven will be released on January 23, 2024 on PC and will leave early access, it will be playable in French. The console versions do not yet have a release date.
  • Ion Fury: Aftershock , the retro FPS expansion , will be released on October 2, 2023. Yes, that’s today!
  • Cultic: Interlude , the free update for the FPS , is available now, with a new map and a new storyline taking place between the first two chapters.
  • Divine Frequency , the FPS very inspired by Doom , announced in video.
