After several weeks in beta testing, Rufus 4.10 is now officially available as a stable release. This new version introduces a handful of useful improvements, enhanced compatibility, and important bug fixes. Here’s a detailed look at what’s new.
What’s New in Rufus 4.10?
Dark Mode Support
One of the most noticeable changes in Rufus 4.10 is the addition of dark mode, which automatically adapts to your Windows system theme. While it’s a small visual update, it has been highly requested by users.

Support for New Secure Boot Certificates
Rufus now supports the Windows CA 2023 Secure Boot certificates, which replace the older certificates expiring in October 2026. This update is crucial for creating bootable media for Windows 11 version 25H2, which is set to be officially released soon. Final ISO images are already available on Microsoft’s servers, even if they haven’t yet appeared on the standard download page.
USB to ISO Backup
Another handy addition is the ability to save an existing USB drive as an ISO image, provided the drive is formatted with UDF. This feature is particularly useful for archiving or duplicating a bootable USB stick.
Improved Linux Mint Compatibility
Rufus 4.10 also improves support for persistent installations of Linux Mint, making it easier to create bootable USB drives with saved changes.
Bug Fixes and Enhancements
Several issues have been addressed in this release, including:
- Problems with ISOs stored in directories with overly long file paths.
- Fixes for UEFI DBX update display errors in certain time zones.
These fixes should provide a smoother and more reliable experience when creating bootable media.
