A true benchmark in the high-end gaming chair market, the Secretlab Titan Evo is not a new contender. However, the Singaporean manufacturer has sent us the latest 2024 version of its flagship for a comprehensive review. Available in three sizes and numerous coverings, the 2024 Titan Evo promises unparalleled comfort and finishing quality, and that’s an understatement. Here is our verdict after several weeks of intensive testing on a full black model with NEO faux leather finish.
Secretlab: The Singapore Success Story
Before diving into the test, a brief history lesson. Founded in 2014 by Ian Ang and Alaric Choo, two video game and eSports enthusiasts, Secretlab made a name for itself by democratizing high-end gaming chairs.
The initial idea was both simple and ambitious: to create gaming chairs that combine optimal comfort, premium quality, and sleek design at affordable prices (at least for high-end products). This challenge was met with great success in 2015 with the first Throne V1 model, which sold 200 units in just one week.
This was followed by several evolutions (Throne V2, Omega, Titan…) that propelled Secretlab onto the international stage. The brand quickly became a reference, forming partnerships with major companies (DC, Blizzard, Red Bull, Riot Games, Lamborghini…) and outfitting major eSports competitions (League of Legends, Valorant, Overwatch, Fortnite…).
Today, Secretlab dominates the premium gaming chair market by offering products at the cutting edge of ergonomics, quality, and style. These qualities are more evident than ever in its flagship model, the Titan Evo. Let’s shine a light on this Formula 1 of gaming chairs.
Unboxing and Assembly: A Premium Experience
Upon receiving the large (very large) package containing the Titan Evo gaming chair, Secretlab immerses us in a premium experience, true to its brand. Everything is perfectly packaged and protected to avoid any scratches during transport.
Upon opening the box, we find the various components neatly compartmentalized, along with a large illustrated assembly guide. It even includes a QR Code meant to link to an instructional video for assembly, but unfortunately, the link seems to have expired. A minor hiccup that we will be sure to report to the brand. A tool kit containing a screwdriver and Allen wrench is also provided. Nothing is left to chance.
Moving on to the assembly itself, it turns out to be surprisingly simple and quick for a gaming chair, thanks in part to the very clear assembly guide. By following the steps carefully, assembling the various parts of the Secretlab Titan Evo is straightforward. It’s intuitive, and the provided tools do the job perfectly.
One small regret is the lack of a French version of the manual. However, the diagrams are clear enough to get by without it. We appreciate that most of the screws are pre-installed on the parts, even though there is a small bag with a dozen screws separately. This prevents having loose screws. There are also markers to connect the backrest to the seat without mistakes.
In the end, in just 20 minutes, our Titan Evo proudly stands in the middle of our desk (or rather my garden 😊), ready for action. The assembly is really within everyone’s reach—a plus for Secretlab. Now, let’s talk about the aesthetics of the chair!
Design and Finishes: The Class of Secretlab
Visually, the Titan Evo follows the brand’s stylistic codes with a sleek silhouette full of curves, exuding quality and elegance. Our test model, entirely black with its NEO faux leather finish, remains very understated for a gaming chair.
The black Secretlab logos embroidered on the headrest and backrest add a touch of sophistication. It’s a far cry from the flashy and colorful designs of some gaming chairs. Here, the focus is on timelessness with delightfully attractive clean lines.
The build quality is simply incredible. Secretlab uses only high-quality materials like steel for the structure, robust metal for the piston, and aluminum for the five-star base… No cheap plastic in sight. And it’s immediately noticeable. Once seated, the Titan Evo exudes a real sense of solidity—nothing moves, squeaks, or cracks, even with vigorous movement. It’s built to last!
The finishes are also of the highest level. Perfect stitching, the “Secretlab” logo on the armrests, side covers to hide screws, aluminum mesh under the seat—all exude luxury and attention to detail. You can tell the brand’s designers and engineers have gone all out to offer an extremely high-quality and durable gaming chair.
The NEO faux leather covering used on our model feels soft and pleasant to the touch. Very close to real leather, it features a realistic grain effect. There is also a part in faux Alcantara on the sides of the seat and backrest for an even more premium design. The magnetic headrest, made of memory foam, is covered in an ultra-soft fabric, extremely pleasant against the neck and head.
Secretlab also offers a wide range of coverings to choose from (NEO faux leather, Softweave Plus fabric, Nappa leather…) and three distinct sizes to suit all body types and preferences:
- Small: Recommended for people up to 169 cm tall and weighing less than 90 kg.
- Regular: Suitable for sizes from 170 to 189 cm and up to 100 kg.
- XL: Designed for users from 181 to 205 cm and up to 180 kg.
This allows for a chair that is uniquely adapted to your body type.
Additionally, the brand offers models in the colors of your favorite games, movies, or eSports teams. A fan of Cyberpunk 2077, Game of Thrones, League of Legends, or Batman? There’s surely a Titan Evo for you. Those who prefer more understated chairs will also find their happiness with neutral and timeless colors.
In the end, Secretlab solidifies its reputation by offering with the Titan Evo an exceptionally well-built chair that combines timeless design with outstanding finishes. The high price already seems almost justified, but we’ll revisit this later. The main question remains: what about comfort and ergonomics once you’re seated?
Royal Comfort for the Long Haul
Now let’s sit in the Titan Evo to judge its comfort and ergonomics. And it’s safe to say the chair does not disappoint, far from it. The seat and backrest use cold-cure memory foam that conforms perfectly to the body’s shapes while providing excellent support—neither too firm nor too soft. A real pleasure as soon as you take a seat.
A true centerpiece, the backrest features an ingenious lumbar support system, the L-ADAPT Lumbar Support. Fully adjustable, it allows precise control of the height and intensity of the lumbar push via two knobs located on either side, directly integrated into the backrest. It takes a bit of time to find the ideal setting, but once in place, the support is truly perfect and tailored to your own body type. Goodbye lower back pain even after a long session!
The 4D armrests are also a model of ergonomics. Ultra-modular, they offer multiple adjustments (height, depth, lateral spacing, pivoting) to perfectly adapt their position to your playing or working style. Again, Secretlab stands out by offering armrests that are both very flexible and robust, with their aluminum shells. The faux leather pads are spacious and allow for comfortable elbow resting without pain. Their magnetic attachment makes replacing them very easy in case of wear.
But ergonomic adjustments don’t stop there. The Titan Evo also offers:
- A backrest that tilts up to 165° with 5 locking positions. Ideal for naps between games 😎.
- An adjustable seat height from 450 to 520 mm to suit all heights.
- A mechanism tension adjustment for a softer or firmer rocking experience depending on preference.
In short, there’s plenty to fully customize your position and comfort. By adjusting the different parameters, you quickly find your ideal point for fatigue-free sessions.
The generous seat comfortably accommodates even the largest body types without feeling cramped. Its padding provides optimal pressure distribution to avoid compression points. Combined with the wide backrest that is firm yet cushy and the adjustable armrests, it’s hard to find a better gaming seat. Even after 8 hours straight, there’s no pain or stiffness to report. The Titan Evo takes care of your body.
Its magnetic memory foam headrest completes the picture by ideally supporting the neck and head. Easily adjustable in height and tilt, it stays in place without moving. The only regret is that it remains black regardless of the chair color chosen. But that’s a minor detail.
In the end, the Titan Evo undoubtedly ranks as one of the most comfortable and ergonomic gaming chairs we’ve tested. With its excellent cold-cure foam padding, numerous adjustments, and integrated lumbar support, it provides superb seating for very long hours of work or play without discomfort. Your back and posture will thank you. If the price doesn’t scare you off, you have an exceptional gaming seat built to last.
Verdict: Still the Queen of Gaming Chairs
With the 2024 version of its Titan Evo, Secretlab does not revolutionize its formula but refines it further, pushing the boundaries of premium gaming chairs even further. A true concentrate of technologies, this ultra-high-end chair ticks all the boxes of the perfect gaming seat.
Whether it’s through the premium quality of its finishes, its modern and timeless design that’s fully customizable, its highly effective integrated lumbar support system, or its divinely comfortable cold-cure foam padding, the Titan Evo remains the ultimate reference.
Certainly, its high price (starting from €549) reserves it for a passionate audience willing to invest in a high-end seat. But the exceptional quality is undeniably present for a chair that will accompany you without faltering for many years to come.
We might simply regret a manual that is still only in English, somewhat temperamental armrest magnets, and
the absence of an included footrest as standard.
But these minor issues do not detract from the overall excellence of this gaming chair. If your budget allows, the Secretlab Titan Evo 2024 edition is undoubtedly the best investment you can make for your gaming setup. And that’s not just empty words!
Secretlab Titan Evo: A Comfortable and Robust Gaming Chair
With its 2024 Titan Evo, Secretlab reaffirms its status as the undisputed leader in the ultra-premium gaming chair market. An ever-evolving model, pushing the limits in terms of comfort, customization, and build quality. Despite the high price, those who make the investment won’t regret it.
Do you know when they are coming out? I am waiting on the new series of 2024 instead of buying the 2022. Will there be any updates on the desks? Thanks!
yes there will be new features in 2024 or early 2025
